Autism Spectrum Resources

Raising a child today is expensive.  When you add a disability or difference of any kind, the cost skyrockets.  With a child on the Autism Spectrum you might plan to pay for dietary suppliments, special diets, physical or occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical treatment, individual counseling for your child and yourself, tutoring, and other special therapies like horseback riding, art or music.  It can be overwhelming!

To help with these difficulties I am providing some information on grants and foundations.  If you are fortunate enough not to need this kind of help, you might consider making a donation to help others who do.

The Autism Relief Foundation provides autism therapy grants ranging from $300 - $1,800 to children and adults who have autism.  The grants can be used to pay for medical treatment by a physician or naturopath;  therapies - including speech therapy, occupational therapy, art therapy, music therapy and hyperbaric therapy; summer camp or social skills groups; and respite care services.  To find out more, check out their website at:  http://autismrelieffoundation.com/.

The Children's Charity Fund, Inc. provides grants to assist handicapped and disabled children with medical equipment and educational expenses.  To find out more, contact the charity at 6623 Superior Ave., Sarasota, FL  34231 or e-mail ccf21c@aol.com

Just remember to take time to enjoy life's special moments.
