Don't you just love it when you're sick and your medical provider tells you to go home and get some rest. If you are anything like me, a barrage of pictures runs through your mind. You see laundry piled up because you haven't felt well enough to do it; a sink full of dirty dishes, bills to pay, the cub scout den meeting tomorrow night, and so much more.
With that in mind, what really happens if we (the Moms who run our world) don't take care of ourselves? The laundry will probably pile up even more, the bills might go unpaid for a few more days, the men in our lives will eventually do the dishes (when the paper plates run out), and life will go on. I, however, having a huge stubborn streak and maintaining the attitude that only I can really manage my house the right way, have learned what happens if we don't listen to the experts we pay so well to help us maintain our health.
When we don't take care of ourselves, our families suffer. More specifically, our children suffer. They don't get the best of what we have to offer. So, today, while I wait for upcoming, I pledge to take better care of myself so that I can be there to participate in the lives of my children and grandchildren.
I would like to challenge each of you to do something more this week to take care of yourself.
